Trey Sisk – President of Walk With Men – The members of the board elected me to this position based on my professional background as a consultant. My expertise is in listening to a group, developing a consensus of what their vision is and then assembling and leading a team to create a process to execute that vision. I also have a background in sales, which taught me the importance of meeting people and building relationships. What lead me to become involved with the Walk With Men organization is the members and their passionate desire to reach other men introduce them to a faith based life, and to experience the true joys this life offers us.
Early in my life I thought giving back to the community, although practical and considered the right thing to do, was a self-serving endeavor. Once I became involved with the members of the communities where these projects occurred, I knew this was something that I needed to do. The project that gave me that “A Hah” moment was working with the Central Florida Boys Club. They needed assistance with their facilities mostly with the outdoor recreational portions of their sites. I lead a team that coordinated site design, acquired the necessary materials, obtained assistance from irrigation industry vendors, and enlisted volunteers from the local community to install a complete irrigation system on their Orlando, Florida - Raleigh Street site. We started early one Saturday morning and completed this all in a single day.
The success of these types of projects opened additional opportunities to provide similar services to other Boys Club sites and for other similar organizations in Central Florida. This became my opportunity to walk and share in my faith. Which is what really made them successful, and one of the main reasons why I have joined this purpose driven organization. There are a lot of things one can do on this earth for enjoyment, and I have some hobbies that I thoroughly have fun with. However, the true and lasting enjoyment comes from the giving of my time to others and experiencing the relationships and changes in lives resulting from it.
I have accepted this position and committed myself to developing the vision and leading a passionate team of men to accomplish this vision. One man at a time I hope I can make a difference in the lives of men this organization serves. The relationships built with each member will last for lifetime and this the potential to affect generations. I can’t imagine how much of an impact this organization can have on men, and I am humbled to have been chosen to lead them.
Why WalkWithMen for Jerry? A history of abuse, isolation, control and fear leading up to the “ultimate rescue” by a Savior that transformed his heart. His question…….why wouldn’t you want EVERY man to experience the peace and joy that only God can deliver? A three-year process of healing, transformation, support from many and stepping out in faith prepared the way for obedience. Grateful for the pain, blessed with Mercy and Grace….
Jerry has served more than 30 years in the corporate healthcare arena. He began his early career as a licensed Paramedic before transitioning into 911 systems management. During his EMS tenure he led Critical Incident Stress teams and spent much of his time assisting organizations and personnel in the areas of peer support group counseling and PTSD. He recently graduated from Villanova University with a Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma. For the last 23 years he has served in many executive positions and most recently, as Chief Sales Officer for a large healthcare company in Knoxville, TN. Currently, he is serving the Central Florida market as a realtor.
Jerry moved to Oviedo, Fl. with his wife (Dawn) and their two children (Jason and Danielle) from Texas in 1998. He is an avid Green Bay Packer fan and may be seen driving around Central Florida in his 1956 Jeep Willy’s “Packers” truck.
In closing, he is humbled to be surrounded by other men who are willing to put themselves out there in the line of fire. WalkWithMen is here to support other men in need of assistance and to offer a friend who will walk beside them on their life journey, and we will do just that!
A convinced believer that men do not do life well alone. His request ….join us and make a difference!
As men we are taught at a young age to be tough and strong. We are looked at as the leaders of our household and often times at work. We are carrying a lot of responsibilities, but we have also gotten really good at suppressing our feelings which can cause unwanted struggles.
My passion is to help men understand that it is ok to have feelings and to provide a place where we can gather to walk out life together. Letting go of our hindrances will allow us to be the husband, dad, brother, son and co-worker God created us to be.
Mitch is a Financial Advisor with the McKelvey Group. He resides in Oviedo with his wife Lindsey, son Wyatt and daughter Kennedy.
