For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home.
Matthew 25:35
With families struggling to survive or just catch up, many children are suffering from a lack of nutritious food. It is estimated that 1 in 4 children may go hungry this year.
Although food banks where people can obtain food for their families exist in many areas, and programs exist to feed children 2 meals per day (breakfast and lunch) while school is in session, not everyone can take advantage of these services due to many contributing factors. Just to list a few:
For many kids these FREE meals are a lifeline.
A gap exisists btween services that are available, and services people can access.
WALK WITH MEN is helping to fill the food gap by providing various Seminole County schools with the items they have requested to help fill their food pantries.
These food pantries are on site in the schools and run by people who know the children, know the families, and are familiar with their needs. Also, it is much easier to pick food up when they come to pick up their children.
This allows families to have food at home and not have to leave work to pick up food items every day at a particular time, and to have food on weekends and other days when school is out.
Your generous donation will support us in ministering and serving the parents and school children in our community.
